Welcome, I’m Imogen.

I am a highly experienced and certified birth doula, birth educator sound therapist, photographer, and space holder ~ and mother to two wonderful daughters, based in Stoke Newington, Hackney, London.

Supporting people through the profound journey of pregnancy and childbirth is one of the greatest honours of my life. Every birth I support stays with me, etched into my memory and heart. Over the years, I’ve supported families through all kinds of births: hospital and home births, water births, birth centre births, breech birth, VBAC, HBAC, Twin Births, planned and unplanned cesareans, and even home births without midwives. Each experience is unique, each story sacred, and every birth holds its own kind of magic.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that every family deserves to feel supported, safe, and seen as they step into the transformative journey of birth and parenthood.

Before stepping into this work, I spent over 15 years in the fashion industry, travelling the world as a photographer and art director. It was often exciting, creative, and full of adventure, yet after the birth of my first daughter something within me shifted, or expanded. I retrained as a birth doula and haven’t looked back.

.

When I am not supporting at a birth, I get to combine my artistry with my passion for motherhood, planning and capturing pregnancy and motherhood shoots. These sessions feel like timeless keepsakes, preserving a moment before everything changes, before a new version of you emerges. They are treasures you’ll never regret investing in.

Both of my daughters were born at home. Though their labours were nearly identical in length, 5 years apart, the experiences were profoundly different. Each one taught me invaluable lessons, deepened my empathy, and refined my practice as a birth keeper. Alongside this, I bring lived experience of hyperemesis gravidarum (severe pregnancy sickness) and postpartum depression. If you encounter either on your journey, know that I can meet you with compassion, understanding, and practical support.

Birth matters. The space, the care, the voices that surround you - they shape the story you carry for life. In the UK today, too many women are left unheard, rushed, and traumatised by a system that is stretched far beyond its limits.

If you are pregnant and considering where you would like to give brith, I hope you will research into home births. I truly believe it offers the most chance for a person to birth in their own power, on their own terms, with mother-centred support and the best outcomes for mother and baby. Home is not just a setting. It is a space of softness, of sovereignty, of trust. When the right support is there, it often becomes the safest place of all.

If you are holding a vision for your birth, quietly or boldly, I see you. You deserve care that meets you where you are, and serves the natural unfolding of childbirth. I would be honoured to walk beside you.

“I felt held and supported throughout - and will forever be grateful to Imogen for guiding me through it and helping our boy to come into the world peacefully and smoothly.”

  • “Imogen guided me through my first (and only, to date) pregnancy and labour. I spoke to a few doulas before choosing Imogen for her particularly warm demeanour and non-dogmatic approach. She was really fantastic throughout, and really came into her own during my 36-hour labour. She was in touch with me and my husband from the minute the labour started and was physically present for the last 20 hours of it, first at home and then in hospital. She was firmly reassuring and calm, which I especially appreciated in the moments when I felt like I was losing my grip on reality. I am still not sure that labour can be beautiful, but Imogen is definitely the reason that mine was not traumatic (and went largely to plan and without complications), despite the incredibly broken medical bureaucracy around it.”

  • "Imogen helped us to bring our beautiful son safely into this world. Having her by our side to prepare us during the weeks before and to guide us throughout my labour made me feel like we were an invincible team. The best cheerleader, support (emotionally and physically!), and teacher, Imogen helped me to birth my son in the way that I wanted. Her subsequent care and love has allowed me to remember his birth as something of which I will always be incredibly proud. She is truly an angel whom we are now privileged to consider part of our family."
