trusted doula support

Pregnancy and childbirth are part of a sacred and transformative journey, one you will remember for the rest of your life. During this time of great transition, it can be deeply reassuring to have someone experienced walking alongside you. My role as a doula is to offer dedicated, continuous mother-centred support designed to help you feel informed, empowered, and fully in trust of your body’s innate ability to birth your baby.

I am based in Stoke Newington, Hackney, and cover many London Postcodes.

  • Birth is wonderfully unpredictable, and my experience brings a depth of understanding that no training alone can provide.

I have over five years experience of supporting families, providing nuanced and dedicated support through a wide range of experiences including home births, hospital births, birth centre births, inductions, planned caesareans, VBACs, HBAC’s, free births, twin births, breech births, radical births, and more complex journeys that have required flexibility, advocacy, and deep emotional support.

Alongside my professional experience, I have also birthed two children of my own. Both of my daughter’s births felt very different ~ a powerful reminder that there is no single right way to give birth.

Over the years I have learned that whilst every birth is unique, what women often need remains the same: to feel safe, informed, respected, and deeply supported. My role is to bring a judgement free, calm, experienced presence to your journey, helping you navigate whatever path your birth takes.

  • I believe birth is far more than a physical event.

It is a full-body, full-being experience ~ physiological, emotional, mental, and spiritual all at once. Birth asks us not only to open physically, but to navigate intensity, uncertainty, surrender, and transformation.

This is why my approach goes beyond simply preparing for labour.

We explore the physiology of birth and the hormones that support it, but we also work with the nervous system, breath, movement, mindset, and the subconscious patterns that can influence how we experience birth.

I help clients understand how to create the conditions that allow birth physiology to work optimally: safety, trust, relaxation, connection, and support.

We explore practical tools such as breathwork, sound, movement, positioning, visualisation, nervous system regulation, and conscious relaxation ~ not as techniques to "perform" during labour, but as ways of coming home to your body and working with it rather than against it.

Birth is a deeply instinctive process, and often the most powerful preparation is learning how to soften, listen, adapt, and trust.

Above all, I believe birth It is a profound rite of passage.

My role is to help you understand what is happening within your body, cultivate trust in your own instincts, and feel supported enough to surrender to the experience in whatever way your journey unfolds.

Because when the mind feels safe, the body is often able to do what it has always known how to do.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that every family deserves to feel supported, safe, and seen as they step into the transformative journey of birth and parenthood..

  • People choose me when they want more than standard birth support ~ they want someone who can hold the emotional, physical, spiritual and practical landscape of birth with calm precision and deep presence.

Over the years, I have learned that whilst every family is different, most people are looking for the same thing: someone they can truly trust.

I bring a rare combination of grounded experience, intuitive intelligence, and unwavering steadines through years of walking alongside families through birth in all its forms, and in a deep trust in the wisdom of the body and the intelligence of the nervous system.

I bring lived experience of pregnancy, birth, hyperemesis gravidarum (HG), postpartum depression (PND), and two very different home births of my own

I am skilled at supporting both physiological birth and medically complex situations, remaining calm and grounded when plans change

I have strong working relationships with midwives, consultants, and homebirth teams, helping you navigate the system with greater confidence and clarity

I provide extensive preparation that goes beyond birth plans, helping you understand your options, advocate for your preferences, and feel genuinely informed

I have a reputation for helping families feel calmer, more confident, and deeply held throughout one of the most significant transitions of their lives, creating positive experiences.

Much of my work is with high-achieving professionals who are used to navigating life with strength and control. In birth, the invitation is different. My role is to hold a space where you don’t have to perform, manage, or hold it all together ~ where you can soften, trust, and be fully supported while still feeling informed and in choice.

I have never seen birth as an isolated event. It is one chapter in a much larger story. My work is woven throughout the entire journey ~ helping you prepare during pregnancy, supporting you through birth, nurturing your recovery afterwards, and creating spaces for rest, reflection, connection, and growth as you step into motherhood.

Families often tell me they chose me because I feel warm, calm and reliable. There is no performance in my support, no agenda to shape your experience into something it is not. Instead, there is presence, honesty, and a quiet confidence that allows you to feel more anchored in your own.

I am a proud Brown birthworker, and I bring lived understanding, cultural awareness, and deep care into every space I hold.

  • I support families with a wide range of needs, and my experience includes working thoughtfully and respectfully with:

~ First-time parents who feel anxious or want a clear, evidence-based understanding of the birth process
~ High-achieving professionals who value structure, planning, and efficient communication
~ Queer, trans, and nonbinary families seeking explicitly affirming, inclusive care
~ Parents navigating birth after trauma or with medical anxiety
~ Immigrant and bicultural families who benefit from culturally responsive support, language awareness, and advocacy
~ Clients planning VBACs, scheduled cesareans, or hospital-based births
~ Neurodivergent parents (including ADHD and autistic parents), with preparation and communication adapted to individual needs

Across all of this, my approach is warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental ~centered on informed decision-making and care that is tailored to each family.

As a brown birthworker, I hold this work with deep care and a lived understanding of how vital safety, respect and advocacy are in birth spaces.

my doula offerings

My approach is nuanced, practical, holistic, intuitive, and deeply attuned ~ and it is woven through every aspect of my work. Each offering is held with the same depth of care, and gently shaped around your needs, your birth vision, and the kind of support that feels most nourishing for you in this chapter.

Blurred image with a dark object in the foreground and the moon in the sky.
  • A full-spectrum, deeply supportive antenatal, birth, and postnatal package for those wanting continuous, grounded care throughout their journey. This is my most comprehensive offering, holding you from preparation through to birth and early postpartum with presence, guidance, and unwavering support.

    from £2626

  • Dedicated, calm, and informed support for planned caesarean birth. This package is designed to help you feel prepared, emotionally supported, and deeply held through the entire experience ~ before, during, and after birth ~ with care that honours both the medical and emotional landscape of your journey.

    £888

  • A gently held package for those who have given birth before and already carry a foundation of knowledge and lived experience.

This is less about preparation from the beginning, and more about refinement, reflection, and deepening into what is needed this time around. Every pregnancy and birth is different, and this offering supports you in meeting this next experience with clarity, trust, and grounded awareness ~ whether your journey feels familiar, completely new, or somewhere in between.

Together we focus on what feels most relevant now: your emotional landscape, any shifts in confidence or fear, your body’s memory, and the specific support you want in place for this birth. There is space for integration of previous experiences, alongside gentle preparation that honours what you already know.

This is a space for returning ~ not to the beginning, but to yourself ~ with more awareness, more nuance, and more trust in your own path.

    from £2222

  • A one-off, deeply held session to gently process and integrate your birth experience.

Birth does not always unfold in the way we imagined or prepared for. Even when things appear “fine” on the outside, the body and nervous system can still hold impressions of what was intense, unexpected, overwhelming, or not fully processed in the moment. Experiences that move too quickly, feel out of our control, or sit outside of expectation can often be stored somatically ~ held in the breath, the tissues, and the emotional landscape long after birth itself.

This space is here for that. For reflection, meaning-making, emotional release, and gentle unpacking of your story in a way that allows it to be witnessed fully. We slow everything down so you can meet your experience with compassion, clarity, and care.

Sessions can take place online, or in person as a more embodied offering, weaving together gentle bodywork / Closing of the Bones ceremony / and sound healing ~ supporting release, grounding, and integration on a physical and energetic level as well as an emotional one.

Whether your birth felt empowering, complex, confusing, beautiful, disappointing, or all of these at once, there is space for it here. Nothing needs to be edited or held alone.

Together, we begin to bring language, understanding, and integration to what your body and mind have lived through ~ so your experience can be acknowledged, softened, and gently woven back into your story, rather than carried silently or unresolved.

    from £122

  • We prepare extensively for birth, yet so often the weeks and months that follow are left to chance.

The arrival of a baby is also the birth of a mother, a parent, a family. It is a profound transition ~ physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and relationally. Whilst modern culture often celebrates the arrival of a baby, it rarely honours the transformation taking place within the mother herself.

Soft Landings was born from the belief that this transition deserves to be held.

That mothers deserve to land softly.

Not rushed back into productivity. Not expected to do it all alone. Not left navigating one of life's greatest initiations without support.

Together, we create the conditions for a softer postpartum experience ~ one that prioritises rest, nourishment, recovery, connection, and care.

    Creating Your Postpartum Sanctuary

Long before your baby arrives, we begin preparing the foundations.

    Who will support you?

    What will nourish you?

Where can unnecessary pressures be removed?

How can your home support rest rather than depletion?

    What boundaries need protecting?

    What support systems need strengthening?

Rather than waiting until you're exhausted, overwhelmed, or struggling, we intentionally create a postpartum sanctuary ~ a space that allows you to heal, bond, and settle into motherhood with greater ease.

Because a soft landing rarely happens by accident.

    It is created.

    How I Support You

My role is to care for the mother, so that she can care for her baby.

This may look like preparing nourishing meals, helping you establish supportive rhythms, offering infant feeding support, holding your baby whilst you shower or rest, creating space for sleep, or simply being a calm and reassuring presence during a season that can feel both beautiful and overwhelming.

It may look like answering questions, talking through emotions, processing your birth experience, supporting your partner, helping you navigate family dynamics, or reminding you that you do not need to carry everything alone.

Every family is different, and every visit is shaped around what is most needed that day.

    Some days are practical.

    Some days are emotional.

    Some days are restorative.

    All are centred around care.

    Beyond Practical Support

My work extends beyond logistics and checklists.

As a holistic practitioner, I bring an understanding of the nervous system, recovery, embodiment, and emotional wellbeing into my postpartum care.

Support may include gentle bodywork, sound healing, guided relaxation, postpartum rituals, Closing of the Bones ceremonies, birth reflection work, or simply creating space for you to reconnect with yourself amidst the demands of new parenthood.

Motherhood asks so much of us.

This work is about ensuring that someone is also tending to you.

    A Softer Beginning

    There is no perfect postpartum.

There is no way to avoid every challenge.

But there is a difference between navigating this season unsupported and navigating it whilst feeling held.

Soft Landings is an invitation to slow down.

    To receive support.

    To be nourished.

    To be witnessed.

To recover not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually too.

Because mothers deserve care, not just babies.

And because the way we are held in the beginning matters.

    From £450 (10 hours)

  • Sound, Rest & Nervous System Preparation for Birth

Birth is not simply a physical event.

It is a full-body experience that asks us to soften, surrender, trust, and respond to intensity in a way that few other experiences in life require.

Yet most birth preparation focuses on information alone.

Whilst understanding birth physiology is important, knowledge is only one part of the picture. When labour begins, it is your nervous system, your breath, your ability to find safety, and your relationship with intensity that often shape the experience most profoundly.

The Birth Within was created to support this deeper preparation.

Combining sound healing, guided relaxation, visualisation, breath awareness, nervous system regulation, and birth preparation, these sessions offer an opportunity to step out of the thinking mind and into a state of deep rest and connection.

People often ask if this is hypnobirthing.

In many ways, yes ~ but I rarely use that term. For me, these practices are not simply birth techniques to pull out when labour begins. They are life skills. The ability to regulate your nervous system, return to your breath, trust your body, soften into intensity rather than resist it, and find safety within yourself.

These are skills that support birth, but they also support motherhood, relationships, and life itself.

    What a Session Looks Like

Each session is a deeply personalised experience, designed to support both your preparation for birth and your overall wellbeing during pregnancy.

Sessions can take place either in the nurturing surroundings of The Love Studio N16 ~ often affectionately referred to as the womb at the end of my garden ~ or in the comfort of your own home, allowing you to settle into a space where you feel completely at ease.

We begin with a cacao / womb support teas and a gentle conversation about where you are in your pregnancy, what is present for you emotionally and physically, and any intentions you would like to bring into the session. This may include preparing for labour, building trust in your body, releasing fears, processing previous birth experiences, connecting with your baby, or simply creating space to rest.

From there, you will be guided into a deeply restorative sound journey, typically lasting around an hour. Using crystal singing bowls, gong, voice, chimes, and other therapeutic instruments, I create an immersive soundscape designed to encourage nervous system regulation, deep relaxation, and a profound sense of safety and ease.

Woven throughout the session may be elements of breathwork, visualisation, affirmations, birth education, nervous system awareness, and gentle reflection. Rather than teaching techniques to memorise, we cultivate a felt experience of softness, trust, surrender, and connection ~ qualities that can support you beautifully during labour and beyond.

Many women describe these sessions as some of the deepest rest they experience during pregnancy.

    A chance to pause.

    To listen.

    To soften.

    To connect with baby.

To quiet the noise of the outside world.

And to begin preparing for birth from the inside out.

    Why This Matters

Birth asks us to move beyond thinking and into feeling.

It invites us to trust sensations we cannot control, surrender to a process we cannot fully predict, and meet intensity with openness rather than resistance.

The more familiar your body becomes with states of deep relaxation, the easier it can be to return there when labour begins.

The more you practise softening, the more accessible softness becomes.

The more you cultivate trust, the easier it is to hear the wisdom that already lives within you.

It is about creating the inner conditions that allow you to meet your birth with greater confidence, presence, and trust.

    Available As

We will remain in close contact throughout early labour, with guidance and reassurance available by phone and message as things begin to unfold. Once active labour is established and/ or you feel ready for additional support, I will join you at home.

From that point, I remain with you continuously throughout labour, birth, and the immediate hours afterwards, offering emotional, physical, and practical support for both you and your birth partner.

My commitment is to provide continuity of care during one of the most significant days of your life — ensuring that you are never navigating it alone.

When labour begins, my focus becomes creating the conditions for you to feel safe, supported, and able to surrender to the unfolding process.

From the earliest signs of labour, I am available to guide, reassure, and help you navigate what is happening. Together, we remain responsive to your needs, whether that means practical guidance, emotional encouragement, advocacy, quiet presence, or simply helping you feel more grounded in the moment.

Throughout labour, I draw upon a range of tools and approaches to support your physiology and nervous system, including breathwork, movement, positioning, massage, acupressure, sound, relaxation techniques, and creating an environment that supports the flow of labour hormones. I work intuitively, adapting my support to what is needed in each moment rather than following a fixed formula.

For partners, I provide gentle guidance and reassurance, helping them feel informed, involved, and confident in supporting you. Rather than replacing your birth partner, I support both of you ~ creating a sense of steadiness and continuity throughout the experience.

Whether your birth unfolds at home, in a birth centre, or in hospital, my role is to help you feel informed, connected to your choices, and deeply supported as your baby's birth story unfolds.

Above all, I hold a calm and grounded presence amidst the intensity of birth ~ protecting your space, supporting your instincts, and reminding you of your strength when you need it most.

  • Birth is not the end of the journey, but the beginning of a profound transition.

My postnatal support is designed to nurture and honour the mother as much as the baby, creating space for rest, recovery, reflection, and integration during the tender early weeks.

Together, we gently unpack your birth story, explore the emotions that can arise in the postpartum period, and navigate any challenges you may be experiencing, including feeding, recovery, confidence, identity shifts, and the realities of life with a new baby.

Alongside practical and emotional support, there is space for deeper nourishment and restoration. This may include gentle bodywork, nervous system support, sound healing, closing rituals, or an optional Closing of the Bones ceremony ~ a beautiful tradition that honours the physical, emotional, and energetic transition from pregnancy and birth into motherhood.

You'll also receive a lovingly prepared home-cooked meal, created to nourish your body and replenish your energy, as well as ongoing phone and message support as you find your feet and settle into new rhythms.

Above all, this is a space where you can exhale.

A space to feel held, witnessed, and cared for as you recover physically, integrate emotionally, and begin this new chapter with greater ease and support.

Limited Availability

To ensure every family receives the depth of care, attention, and continuity they deserve, I intentionally support a limited number of clients each month.

Many families choose to book with me early in pregnancy, often following their first scan, allowing us time to build trust, prepare intentionally, and create a truly personalised experience.

If you're considering working together, I recommend reaching out early to discuss availability and explore whether we're the right fit.

Ways I can Support You

Every woman arrives here with her own story, needs, hopes, and questions.

Whether you are preparing to welcome a baby, navigating motherhood, seeking space to reconnect with yourself, or simply longing for more support, my offerings are designed to meet you where you are.

My work blends practical care, emotional support, education, photography, sound healing, and community ~ creating spaces where you can feel safe, seen, and deeply supported throughout life's most transformative seasons.

A Gentle Note:

There is no one-size-fits-all path. Some women come to me seeking a doula. Some are looking for beautiful photography sessions. Some arrive for sound healing and later discover they need deeper support through pregnancy or postpartum. You do not need to know exactly what you need before reaching out. If you're unsure where to begin, we can explore that together.

  • Birth is one of life's greatest transitions, and it deserves to be approached with more than information alone.

My doula support combines evidence-based education, emotional support, practical guidance, nervous system preparation, and continuous care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Together we prepare not only for the physical experience of birth, but also for the emotional, mental, and spiritual journey of becoming a parent.

Whether you are preparing for your first baby, welcoming another child, planning a home birth, hospital birth, birth centre birth, or caesarean birth, my role is to help you feel informed, resourced, and deeply supported every step of the way.

My approach is rooted in physiology, trust, and the understanding that birth is a full-body experience. Through education, breathwork, movement, sound, nervous system awareness, and practical preparation, I help create the conditions that allow you to feel calm, connected, and confident in your choices.

Support options include Full Bloom Doula Support, Returning Bloom Support, Caesarean Birth Support, Remote Doula Support, Soft Landings Postpartum Care, and Birth Reflection & Integration Sessions.

Alongside our time together, all doula clients receive access to my comprehensive online birth course The Birth Within - preparation library, guided audio practices, resources, and birth education materials.

You are also welcomed into a wider community of mothers and families journeying through this season alongside you.

  • 1:1 & Group Sessions

Sound is one of the most powerful ways we can return to ourselves.

It bypasses the thinking mind and speaks directly to the nervous system, inviting the body into a state of rest, regulation, and release. In this space, we are not trying to fix or change anything ~ we are simply creating the conditions for your system to soften and reorganise itself in its own time.

My sound therapy offerings are available both as 1:1 deeply personalised sessions and small group experiences, each holding a slightly different energy while sharing the same intention: to bring you back into balance.

All bodies welcome. Session can be at home of in the Love Studio N16

  • Photography has the power to hold memories long after a season has passed.

My photography sessions are relaxed, connection-led, and designed to capture the beauty that already exists within your life ~ the quiet moments, the laughter, the tenderness, the in-between.

I specialise in pregnancy, motherhood, newborn, family, and personal branding photography, creating timeless images that feel natural, emotive, and true to you.

Before becoming a doula, I spent over fifteen years working in fashion, advertising, and creative direction, developing a deep understanding of storytelling, composition, and visual narrative. Combined with my experience supporting women and families through profound life transitions, this allows me to photograph people with sensitivity, intuition, and ease.

Whether documenting your pregnancy, the early days with your baby, your family as it grows, or imagery for your business, my goal is always the same: to create photographs that feel like you.

The Foundations of My Support

Silhouette of a holly leaf branch with a brown background.

01
Presence

Often, the most transformative support comes not from having all the answers, but from being fully met in the experience.

A stylized, abstract image of a face with exaggerated features, including a large open mouth, a prominent eye with a spiral design, and a flower near the chin, with bold black lines and a brown background.

02
Physiology & Trust

The body is intelligent, understanding our physiology allows us to work with our bodies rather than against them. Knowledge creates confidence. Trust creates softness.

03
Community and Connection

I believe healing happens in community. I believe support matters. I believe women deserve villages.

04
Holistic Care

We cannot separate the physical from the emotional, the practical from the spiritual, or the body from the mind.

Every offering I create is rooted in the understanding that wellbeing is multi-layered.

A black silhouette of a flower with five petals and a spiral in the center, on a brown background.

05
Nervous System Wisdom

The nervous system sits at the heart of so much of our experience. Throughout my work I weave together practices that support regulation, safety, grounding, and ease ~ helping people return to a place where they can hear their own inner wisdom more clearly.

A brown rectangular object with black star and crescent moon shapes on it.

06
Integrity & Accessibility

My work is rooted in genuine care. I believe support should feel thoughtful, honest, and deeply human.

I also believe exceptional care should not be reserved only for those with unlimited resources. Wherever possible, I strive to create offerings that honour both depth and accessibility.

Over the years, I have learned is that experience and pricing are not always the same thing. I believe deeply in lived experience, continued learning, intuition, and the wisdom that comes from supporting families over many years. All areas of my work are rooted in integrity and accessibility. I want support to feel both exceptional and attainable, and I am mindful of creating offerings that reflect the depth of my experience whilst remaining accessible to the families who need them. For me, this work has never been about status or exclusivity. It is about showing up wholeheartedly, holding space with care, and walking alongside people through some of the most significant moments of their lives.

  • “Imogen guided me through my first (and only, to date) pregnancy and labour. I spoke to a few doulas before choosing Imogen for her particularly warm demeanour and non-dogmatic approach. She was really fantastic throughout, and really came into her own during my 36-hour labour. She was in touch with me and my husband from the minute the labour started and was physically present for the last 20 hours of it, first at home and then in hospital. She was firmly reassuring and calm, which I especially appreciated in the moments when I felt like I was losing my grip on reality. I am still not sure that labour can be beautiful, but Imogen is definitely the reason that mine was not traumatic (and went largely to plan and without complications), despite the incredibly broken medical bureaucracy around it.”

  • "Imogen helped us to bring our beautiful son safely into this world. Having her by our side to prepare us during the weeks before and to guide us throughout my labour made me feel like we were an invincible team. The best cheerleader, support (emotionally and physically!), and teacher, Imogen helped me to birth my son in the way that I wanted. Her subsequent care and love has allowed me to remember his birth as something of which I will always be incredibly proud. She is truly an angel whom we are now privileged to consider part of our family."
