“Trust birth. It’s the most natural thing in the world.”
— Michel Odent

Supporting people through the profound journey of pregnancy and childbirth is one of the greatest honours of my life. Every birth I support stays with me, etched into my memory and heart. Over the years, I’ve supported families through all kinds of births: hospital and home births, water births, birth centre births, planned and unplanned cesareans, and even home births without midwives. Each experience is unique, each story sacred, and every birth holds its own kind of magic.

At the heart of my work is a deep belief that every family deserves to feel supported, safe, and seen as they step into the transformative journey of birth and parenthood.

Before stepping into this work, I spent over 15 years in the fashion industry, travelling the world as a photographer and art director. It was often exciting, creative, and full of adventure, yet after the birth of my first daughter something within me shifted - expanded. I no longer felt fulfilled by “feeding the machine.” I felt called to birthwork, and once I answered that call, I never looked back.

When I am not supporting at a birth, I get to combine my artistry with my passion for motherhood, planning and capturing pregnancy and motherhood shoots. These sessions feel like timeless keepsakes, preserving a moment before everything changes, before a new version of you emerges. They are treasures you’ll never regret investing in.

Both of my daughters were born at home. Though their labours were nearly identical in length, 5 years apart, the experiences were profoundly different. Each one taught me invaluable lessons, deepened my empathy, and refined my practice as a birth keeper. Alongside this, I bring lived experience of hyperemesis gravidarum (severe pregnancy sickness) and postpartum depression. If you encounter either on your journey, know that I can meet you with compassion, understanding, and practical support.

“I felt held and supported throughout - and will forever be grateful to Imogen for guiding me through it and helping our boy to come into the world peacefully and smoothly.”

- a mother

Becoming a mother twice over has only strengthened what I had already felt in my bones: birth matters. The space, the care, the voices that surround you - they shape the story you carry for life.

In the UK today, too many women are left unheard, rushed, and traumatised by a system that is stretched far beyond its limits. This is not said to spark fear, but to name a truth that too many whisper quietly after the fact. We are blessed to have medical support when it is truly needed, and what a priveledge it is to know it is there should we require it. But birth has become a medical event that it was never meant to be, and in that shift, much has been lost.

If you are pregnant and considering where you would like to give brith, I hope you will research into home births. I truly believe it offers the most chance for a person to birth in their own power, on their own terms, with mother-centred support and the best outcomes for mother and baby. Home is not just a setting. It is a space of softness, of sovereignty, of trust. When the right support is there, it often becomes the safest place of all.

If you are holding a vision for your birth, quietly or boldly, I see you. You deserve care that meets you where you are, and serves the natural unfolding of childbirth. I would be honoured to walk beside you.
