WELCOME

I’m Imogen.

I blend holistic care with grounded, evidenced based and time-honored wisdom, supporting you physically, emotionally, and creatively. My approach is gentle, mindful, and tailored to your unique journey ~ whether welcoming a new life, finding balance, or preserving life’s meaningful moments.

A woman holding a young child close, with her eyes closed, as they share a tender moment. The woman has long dark hair and is wearing a light dress; the child has curly hair, is dressed in a hoodie and pants, and is holding a small object while looking down at a bouquet of flowers they are holding together. They are standing against a plain wall.

I am passionate about holding space for people in some of life’s most transformative moments. As a birth doula, I guide and support families through the journey of birth with compassion and knowledge. Through sound therapy, I help release tension and create a sense of calm and balance. With photography, I capture the beauty and authenticity of life’s fleeting moments, so they can be remembered and cherished forever.

My story

I am a highly experienced and certified birth doula, birth educator, sound therapist, photographer, and space holder ~ and mother to two daughters ~ based in Stoke Newington, Hackney.

I have supported families through a wide range of experiences, including hospital and home births, water births, birth centre births, breech birth, VBAC, HBAC, twin births, and both planned and unplanned caesareans and free births. This breadth of experience allows me to offer calm, knowledgeable, and deeply attuned support ~ whatever path your birth takes.

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: every family deserves to feel safe, supported, and truly seen as they step into the transformative threshold of birth and parenthood.

Before becoming a doula, I spent over 15 years in the fashion industry as a photographer and art director, often working internationally. That creative life shaped my eye, my sensitivity, and my ability to hold space ~ but it was motherhood that truly changed me. After the birth of my first daughter, I retrained as a birth doula and never looked back.

Both of my daughters were born at home, and my own experiences ~ alongside lived experience of hyperemesis gravidarum and postpartum depression ~ have profoundly shaped my practice. They allow me to meet each family not only with professional expertise, but with genuine understanding, compassion, and grounded, practical care.

I am fully accredited with Doula UK and trained in Biomechanics for Birth with Optimal Birth, Physiologic Baby Care with INNATE Traditions, Birth Bliss Academy, and The Maternity Chakras with Nadia Raffaat. I continue to deepen my knowledge ~ with labouring women as my greatest teachers.

Alongside my birth work, I offer deeply restorative sound healing through sound baths and 1:1 sessions, as well as nurturing ceremonies including mother blessings and closing of the bones. These offerings create space for integration, reflection, and profound support at every stage of the motherhood journey ~ from preparation in pregnancy to healing and transition in the postpartum period. My work weaves together practical care, intuitive presence, and therapeutic practice, allowing you to feel held emotionally, physically, and spiritually. This integrated approach offers a uniquely rounded experience of support, honouring the whole of your transformation as you step into motherhood.

  • “Imogen guided me through my first (and only, to date) pregnancy and labour. I spoke to a few doulas before choosing Imogen for her particularly warm demeanour and non-dogmatic approach. She was really fantastic throughout, and really came into her own during my 36-hour labour.

  • "Imogen helped us to bring our beautiful son safely into this world. Having her by our side to prepare us during the weeks before and to guide us throughout my labour made me feel like we were an invincible team. The best cheerleader, support (emotionally and physically!), and teacher, Imogen helped me to birth my son in the way that I wanted. Her subsequent care and love has allowed me to remember his birth as something of which I will always be incredibly proud. She is truly an angel whom we are now privileged to consider part of our family."

  • Imogen is a very special doula. She supported me through a difficult pregnancy with unwavering care, compassion, and incredible wisdom.

  • From our very first meeting, she made me feel seen, heard, and safe, providing guidance that was both practical and deeply nurturing. Her presence throughout the pregnancy and birth was calming and empowering. She went far beyond what I could have hoped for in support, always anticipating needs I didn’t even know I had.

    - a mother

  • Thanks to Imogen, I was able to navigate my pregnancy with confidence, even in the face of challenges I never imagined I’d face. She helped transform what could have been a stressful and overwhelming experience into one of trust, resilience, and empowerment.I will be forever grateful for her guidance, presence, and unwavering dedication.

  • She was in touch with me and my husband from the minute the labour started and was physically present for the last 20 hours of it, first at home and then in hospital. She was firmly reassuring and calm, which I especially appreciated in the moments when I felt like I was losing my grip on reality. I am still not sure that labour can be beautiful, but Imogen is definitely the reason that mine was not traumatic (and went largely to plan and without complications), despite the incredibly broken medical bureaucracy around it.”
